General Description
Stems 10–70 cm, clustered on the caudex. Leaves basal and cauline, 3–15 cm long; blades deeply pinnately lobed into lanceolate, serrate segments 2–10 cm long. Inflorescence densely flowered, 3–15 cm long; bracts small, linear-lobed, glabrous. Flowers: calyx 4–6 mm long, 5-lobed, the lobes subequal, deltoid, 0.5–2 mm long, prominently veined; corolla burgundy or magenta, 9–15 mm long; galea 4–13 mm long, tubular, curved upward.
