Diagnostic Characteristics
The following combination of characters distinguishes variety crispatus from other varieties: Hairs simple (basifixed) and dolabriform (forked at base; use a hand lens); hairs long (villous), loose and twisted.

Range Comments
A regional endemic in ID (Lemhi County) and MT (Beaverhead, Lewis and Clark and Gallatin counties) (Kartesz 2009).
