General Description
Acaulescent perennial from a simple or branched caudex. Herbage densely silvery strigose. Leaves with 7 to 17 obovate leaflets, 5–20 mm long. Inflorescence of 7 to 16 ascending flowers on a peduncle 2–15 cm long. Flowers purple; sepals 3–6 mm long; calyx villous; banner slightly reflexed, 19–22 mm long; keel 15–17 mm long. Legume ascending, ovoid to ellipsoid with a flattened beak, silvery pilose, 25–45 mm long (Lesica 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
