General Description
Trailing subshrub. Stems trailing, unarmed; erect shoots, 5–30 cm, bearing 2 to 4 leaves. Leaves with 3 narrowly ovate, sparsely pilose leaflets, 2–8 cm long. Flowers 1 to 4 at shoot tips or directly from the main stem; hypanthium pilose, sparsely glandular; sepals lanceolate, 3–5 mm long; petals white, 5–8 mm long, erect. Fruit a globose, red dewberry 5–12 mm wide (Lesica 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
