General Description
Stems ascending, 2–10 cm. Leaves glabrate; blades 1–3 mm wide. Inflorescence arching, of 2 to 12 clusters of 2 to 6 flowers; bracteoles ciliate. Flowers: tepals brown to purple, 1.5–2.5 mm long; outer mucronate; prophylls purplish. Capsules ellipsoid, ca. 2 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Our plants are subspecies unalaschkensis (Buchenau) Hulten.
