General Description
Rhizomatous perennial. Stems erect, simple, 4–30 cm. Herbage villous on the stem. Leaves opposite, lanceolate to ovate, obscurely crenate, 1–3 cm long, nearly sessile. Inflorescence a terminal, glandular-villous raceme; pedicels 2–6 mm long. Flowers: calyx 2–4 mm long; corolla deep blue, 4–8 mm across; style ca. 1 mm long. Capsule obovate, 5–7 mm long, glandular-puberulent, barely notched (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
