General Description
Rhizomatous perennial. Stems simple, basally prostrate, terminally ascending 5–25 cm. Herbage puberulent on the stems. Leaves opposite, 5–15 mm long, short-petiolate below, sessile above, ovate, entire to obscurely crenate. Inflorescence a puberulent to glandular-pubescent, terminal raceme; pedicels 3–5 mm long. Flowers: calyx 2–4 mm long; corolla white to blue, 4–7 mm across; style 2–4 mm long. Capsule reniform, notched, 3–4 mm long, glandular-pubescent (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

MT also has variety serphyllifolia, which is non-native.

Range Comments
Introduced to eastern and northwest North America; native to Europe (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
