General Description
Perennial from a branched caudex. Stems nearly prostrate to ascending, sparsely hairy, 4–10 cm. Leaf blades ovate,1–3 cm long, palmately to subpinnately divided into 5 to 7 oblong, lobed, glabrate to sparsely sericeous leaflets. Inflorescence a few-flowered, sericeous cyme. Flowers: sepals lanceolate, 3–5 mm long; bracteoles narrower and shorter; petals yellow, 5–7 mm long. Achenes ca. 2.5 mm long, smooth (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Range Comments
Distribution maps vary depending on authors and nomenclature. As recognized by Lesica (2012), it occurs in ID, MT south to NV and UT ((Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
