General Description
Plants from a stout horizontal rhizome. Stems erect, 25–80 cm. Herbage sparsely arachnoid. Leaves basal and cauline; blades ovate to oblanceolate, 4–15 cm long, entire to minutely dentate, becoming linear-lanceolate and sessile above. Inflorescence corymbiform of 7 to 30 heads. Heads radiate; involucres 5–9 mm high; phyllaries ca. 21, sparsely arachnoid, black-tipped. Rays ca. 13; ligules 5–9 mm long. Disk corollas 5–8 mm long. Achenes 1–3 mm long, sparsely puberulent (
