General Description
Taprooted annual. Stems erect, simple, 5–20 cm. Herbage glandular-puberulent. Leaves 1–5 cm long, cauline; blades with 7–15 lanceolate, entire leaflets. Inflorescence of solitary flowers in upper leaf axils. Flowers: calyx 4–5 mm long, glandular-pubereulent; corolla campanulate, tube and lobes 1–2 mm long; stamens and style shorter than the corolla. Capsule 4–5 mm long, enclosed in the swollen calyx (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Disturbed soil of grasslands, sagebrush steppe, pine woodlands, lawns, gardens, often beneath shrubs; valleys (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
