General Description
Biennial. Stems 30–150 cm. Leaf blades oblong, 7–30 cm long, pinnately shallowly lobed with a large terminal lobe, prickly below and on the margins, clasping above. Involucre 15–22 mm high; phyllaries reflexed in fruit. Rays 20 to 50, yellow or blue; ligules 5–6 mm long. Achenes 4–5 mm long; beaks 2–5 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Range Comments
Known from Big Horn and Meagher counties. SK to ON south to CA, AZ, NM, TX, LA and KY (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
