General Description
Fibrous-rooted perennial. Stems ascending, 10–25 cm, puberulent in lines. Herbage glabrate, glandular above. Leaves opposite, petiolate below; the blades 1–3 cm long, lanceolate to elliptic, usually entire. Inflorescence a leafy-bracted, few-flowered raceme. Flowers pink to purple; hypanthium ca.1.5 mm long, glabrous; sepals 2–4 mm long; petals 3–8 mm long. Capsule pedicelate, linear, 25–50 mm long, glabrous; seeds minutely papillose with a coma (
