Rhizomatous perennial. Stems ascending to erect, simple, 5–25 cm. Herbage sparsely villous on the stem. Leaves opposite, ovate to obovate, entire, 8–25 mm long, sessile. Inflorescence a terminal, glandular-villous raceme; pedicels 2–6 mm long. Flowers: calyx 2–5 mm long, the sepals unequal; corolla dark blue, 7–12 mm across; style 6–10 mm long.
