General Description
Perennial. Stems erect or ascending, usually simple, 15–50 cm. Herbage hispid to villous. Leaves oblanceolate, 2–7 cm long, at least the upper with 1 or 2 pairs of narrow lateral lobes. Inflorescence glandular, villous to hispid; bracts red-tipped, ovate with 1 or 2 pairs of narrow lateral lobes. Flowers: calyx 19–24 mm long, primary clefts subequal, ultimate lobes rounded to acute, 2–7 mm long; corolla green to red, 20–35 mm long, galea 9–15 mm long, lower lip 1–3 mm long (
