Sour Cherry - Prunus cerasus
Pie Cherry, Tart Cherry, Morello Cherry, Sour Red Cherry
Trees to 5 meters tall. Branchlets becoming brownish, lacking thorns. Petioles witih glands. Leaf blades 3-10 cm long, 1.2-5 cm wide, margins doubly serrate, hairy on veins below, the apex abruptly tapering. Flowers commonly 3 per bud. Sepals crenate-serrate, glabrous. Hypanthium glabrous. Petals 7-9 mm long, white. Fruit red, sour(adapted from: Welsh et al., 1993, A Utah Flora, 2nd ed.)
