Habitat
The eastern red bat may be found in eastern Montana, particularly along wooded riparian areas in late summer or early fall.

Food Habits
These bats feeds on flying insects, often moths, within forested areas. They generally forage near the forest canopy at or above treetop level or along streams or lake margins, and may hunt 500-900 meters from the roosting site.

Ecology
These animals are basically solitary. This species of bat may be more vulnerable to avian and other predators because it roosts in tree foliage. The Blue Jay is noted as a predator in North America.
