General Description
Stems terete, little branched, somewhat zigzag. Submersed leaves sessile, clasping, lanceolate, minutely wavy, 6–20 × ca. 1 cm; stipules 2–7 cm long, not sheathing. Floating leaves absent. Spikes 2–4 cm long, continuous. Tepals green, 2–3 mm long. Fruits 4–5 mm long, keeled with an erect beak (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
