General Description
Perennial bunchgrass. Stems usually decumbent, 5–20 cm long. Leaves: blades 1–3 mm wide; ligules 0.5–3 mm long. Inflorescence usually a pyramidal panicle 2–6 cm long. Spikelets 3–5 mm long. Lemmas distinctly keeled, conspicuously hairy at least at base along the midrib (Lavin in Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
