General Description
Perennial bunchgrass. Stems 40–80 cm. Leaves: blades 1.5–2 mm wide, flat. Inflorescence an open panicle 6–15 cm long. Spikelets 8–11 mm long, with 3 to 7 florets. Lemmas unawned or awned to 1.5 mm (Lavin in Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
