General Description
Stems 1–5 dm long. Leaves: blades 2–3 mm wide. Inflorescence an open panicle 5–20 cm long. Spikelets 5–8 mm long. Lemmas 6 to 12 per spikelet (Lavin in Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
