General Description
Annual bunchgrass. Stems 20–80 cm. Leaves: blades 2–3 mm wide. Inflorescence a narrow panicle 3–10 cm long. Spikelets 8–13 mm long with 5 to 7 florets. Lemmas with a straight awn 6–10 mm long (Lavin in Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
