General Description
Perennial bunchgrass. Stems 30–50 cm. Leaves: blades mostly basal, 2–4 mm wide, ligules 1–6 mm long. Inflorescence an open panicle 6–12 cm long. Spikelets 2.5–3 mm long. Lemmas 2.5–3 mm long, awnless; palea absent to minute (Lavin in Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Range Comments
Southern BC to CA and NV, east to western MT and northwest WY.
