General Description
Mostly glabrous perennial. Stems erect, simple, 50–120 cm, >6 mm wide. Leaf blades 5–25 cm long, lanceolate with a truncate to cordate base and wavy margins. Inflorescence 15–40 cm long, a leafy-bracted panicle of ascending branches. Flowers perfect; outer tepals 2–3 mm long. Fruit 5–10 mm long; inner tepals ovate without a callosity. Achenes reddish brown, 3–5 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
