General Description
Glabrous perennial with tuberous roots. Stems erect, branched, 25–90 cm. Leaves mainly cauline; the blades broadly oblanceolate, 5–20 cm long; stipules scarious, conspicuous. Inflorescence narrowly paniculate. Flowers perfect. Fruit 11–16 mm long; inner tepals cordate without a callosity. Achenes brown, 4–5 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
