General Description
Glabrous, rhizomatous perennial. Stems ascending to erect, slender, branched, 1–25 cm. Leaves lanceolate to narrowly elliptic, petiolate below, 5–15 mm long. Inflorescence open, terminal and axillary, scarious-bracted, umbellate cymes. Flowers: sepals glabrous, green to purple, 2–3 mm long, lanceolate, obscurely 3-veined; petals absent; stamens 5. Capsule 3–5 mm long, opening by 6 slits (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
