General Description
Glabrous, mat-forming perennial. Stems prostrate, branched, 1–15 cm. Leaves 4–12 mm long, ovate, sometimes ciliate below. Inflorescence: axillary, solitary flowers. Flowers: sepals glabrous, ovate, 1–2 mm long with obscure veins and blunt tips; petals absent; stamens 10. Capsule 2–4 mm long, opening by 6 slits (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
