General Description
Annual. Stems ascending to erect, 5–25 cm. Herbage strigose below, becoming hispid in the inflorescence. Leaves 1–5 cm long. Inflorescence minutely bracteate. Flowers calyx ca. 5 mm long in fruit, symmetrical; corolla ca. 2 mm long, limb 2–4 mm across. Nutlets lanceolate, ca. 2 mm long, glabrous (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Our plants are variety micranthus (Piper) I.M.Johnst.
