General Description
Annual. Stems slender, usually branched at the base, 5–20 cm. Herbage appressed-hirsute, hispid. Leaves linear, 1–2 cm long. Inflorescence ebracteate or bracteate at the base. Flowers: calyx hispid, hirsute, 5–7 mm long in fruit; corolla ca. 2 mm long. Nutlets 4, lance-ovate, ca. 2 mm long; 1 smooth and slightly larger; the other 3 sparsely muricate; scar closed, widened at the base (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants.
