State Rank Reason (see State Rank above)
Tragopogon miscellus is an allote-traploid, formed (probably repeatedly) from hybrids between Tragopogon pratensis and Tragopogon dubuis , which are both non-native species in North America (Soltis in Flora of North America 2006). Tragopogon miscellus has been reported near Gardiner in Park County, Montana, but is no longer present there (Soltis in Flora of North America 2006; Lesica et al. 2022). Tragopogon miscellus does not occur in Europe, but hybrids between Tragopogon pratensis and Tragopogon dubuis occur occasionally (Soltis in Flora of North America 2006). A conservation status rank is not applicable (SNA) because Tragopogon miscellus is am exotic (non-native) plant in Montana and a product of non-native parents and is not a suitable target for conservation activities.
