General Description
Glabrous and glaucous annual. Stems 30-90 cm. Leaf blades oblanceolate, 6-18 cm long, deeply pinnately lobed; lobes deltoid, shallowly lobed. Involucre 7-11 mm high; phyllaries reflexed in fruit. Rays 5, yellow; ligules ca. 7 mm long. Achenes ca. 3 mm long; the beak 0.5-1 mm long; pappus white (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Lesica (2012) treats this species in the genus Lactuca.

Range Comments
One collection from Sanders County. Introduced to northeast and northwest North America; native to Europe (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
