General Description
Taprooted perennial. Stems erect, 15–60 cm. Herbage gray-tomentose to sometimes glabrate. Leaf blades lanceolate, 4–20 cm long, pinnately lobed nearly to the midvein into well-separated, linear segments. Heads 3 to 30. Involucre turbinate, 8–15 mm high; phyllaries lanceolate, tomentose, with or without blackish setae. Rays 8 to 35, 7–12 mm long. Achenes dark green, 3–10 mm long, not beaked (
