General Description
Stems erect, simple or branched, 20–60 cm. Herbage short-puberulent. Leaves glandular-punctate beneath, subsessile, lanceolate, entire to serrate, 2–4 cm long, linear-lanceolate, opposite below, alternate above. Heads erect; peduncles 5–20 mm long. Involucres narrowly campanulate, 6–12 mm high; phyllaries linear to lanceolate, green, puberulent. Disk flowers 15 to 35, cream to pinkish; corolla 6–9 mm long. Achenes 3–5 mm long, hairy; pappus plumose (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
