Taxonomy of some Oreohelix species remains unresolved, including this species. Species also lacks recent observations and other data used to assess rank. Until these issues are resolved the species is unrankable.
 
General Description
Medium sized for the genus with up to 5.25 whorls (Frest and Johannes, 1995).

Range Comments
Clark Fork River Valley between Clinton and Garrison (Frest and Johannes 1995).

Migration
Sedentary.


Threats or Limiting Factors
Threats include removal of talus for fill and road construction, grazing (pandemic in the area occupied), and roadside spraying; construction and maintenance of I-90 & U.S. HWY 12 and associated roads has impacted sites (Frest and Johannes 1995).
