The Black-throated Gray Warbler breeds from southwestern British Columbia south through western Washington, western and central Oregon, and east through southern Idaho and western Wyoming; south through western Colorado and New Mexico, and west to coastal California (Sibley 2014). In Montana, this species has a few records over the past decade, including a breeding record from Carbon County (Montana Bird Distribution Committee 2012).
