General Description
Geysers are features resulting from the eruption of steam through a vent on the surface of the earth; hot springs are areas where hot ground water expresses. The land cover class refers to areas where the earth’s surface is visibly affected by these features.

Ecological System Distribution
Less than 1 square kilometer is classified as Geysers and Hot Springs in the 2017 Montana Land Cover layers.  Grid on map is based on USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle map boundaries.
