General Description
The Summer Tanager breeds across the southern U.S. from southern California to Florida and in the eastern U.S. as far north as Iowa and Ohio (Sibley 2014). In Montana, this species has a couple of records over the past decade (Montana Bird Distribution Committee 2012).
