Stems tan becoming gray; thorns 15–25 mm long, straight to curved. Leaf blades glandular, elliptic to obovate, 3–6 cm long, glandular-serrate; sometimes shallowly lobed, appressed-hairy above, glabrous beneath. Inflorescence 7- to 15-flowered, glabrous, punctate.
