General Description
Stems terete, little branched. Submersed leaves sessile, clasping, ovate to lanceolate with wavy margins, 2–10 cm × 6–20 mm; stipules 1–2 cm long, not sheathing, quickly fraying. Floating leaves absent. Spikes 1–3 cm long, continuous. Tepals green, ca. 2 mm long. Fruits 2–4 mm long, obscurely keeled with an erect beak (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
