General Description
Stems 20–40 cm. Leaves: blades 1 mm wide. Inflorescence an open panicle 5–10 cm long. Spikelets 5–7 mm long. Lemmas with an awn 5–8 mm long (Lavin in Lesica 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
