General Description
Perennial bunchgrass. Stems 30–60 cm. Leaves: blades 2–4 mm wide; ligules 2–5 mm long. Inflorescence a nodding panicle 5–16 cm long. Spikelets 7–9 mm long. Lemmas hairy on veins, keeled (Lavin in Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
