Perennial bunchgrass. Stems usually decumbent, 5–20 cm long. Leaves: blades 1–3 mm wide; ligules 0.5–3 mm long. Inflorescence usually a pyramidal panicle 2–6 cm long. Spikelets 3–5 mm long.
