General Description
Perennial bunchgrass. Stems 10–30 cm. Leaves: blades 2–4.5 mm wide; ligules 2–4 mm long. Inflorescence a pyramidal panicle 3–7 cm long. Spikelets 4–6.5 mm long. Lemmas strongly keeled and uniformly hairy (Lavin in Lesica 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
