General Description
Stems mostly 50–100 cm. Leaves: blades 3–7 mm wide, flat. Inflorescence a contracted, erect to nodding, panicle 10–23 cm long. Spikelets 6–9 mm long, with 4 to 9 florets. Lemmas awnless (Lavin in Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
