General Description
Perennial Stems 20–80 cm. Leaves: blades 1–2 mm wide, ligules 3–8 mm long. Inflorescence a contracted panicle 5–25 cm long, the branches appressed to the main rachis. Spikelets 4–7 mm long, glumes pale green but distally purplish-colored. Lemmas 2–3 mm long (Lavin in Lesica 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
