General Description
Perennial from a simple or branched caudex. Stems erect or ascending, glabrate, simple or branched above, 25–40 cm. Leaflets 11 to 21, elliptic, glabrate, dentate, 5–12 mm long. Flowers unisexual or perfect; sepals ovate, 4–5 mm long, green with reddish margins; stamens ca. 12; pistils 2. Fruit pear-shaped, 3–5 mm long, wrinkled between ridges (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
