General Description
Stems 10–50 cm from a branched caudex. Leaves sparsely to moderately long-hairy; blades 3–8 cm wide, 2 to 3 times ternately divided and lobed; ultimate segments tapered to the acute tip. Inflorescence 1- to several-flowered subtended by 1 to 2 tiers of leaf-like bracts. Flowers with 5 to 7 white to rose-purple sepals, 7–15 mm. Achenes wooly, 3–4 mm long in a globose head; the beak ca. 1.5 mm long (
