General Description
Stems erect to spreading, branched above, farinose, 10–60 cm. Leaf blades farinose beneath (sometimes sparse), ovate to triangular, often hastate, 1–4 cm long with entire or wavy margins. Inflorescence glomerules 1–2 mm across in interrupted terminal and axillary spikes. Flowers: calyx segments 5, distinct to the base, 0.7–1.0 mm long; stamens 5. Seed round, smooth, ca. 1 mm (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Range Comments
In MT mostly western third of state and Yellowstone region; AB, SK south to CA, NM, TX, and Mexico (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
