General Description
Perennial with a branched caudex, forming small mats. Stems ca.1 cm, inconspicuous. Herbage strigose. Leaves linear-oblanceolate, 1–4 cm long. Involucre broadly campanulate, 12–20 mm high; phyllaries ciliate, acute to acuminate, purple-tipped. Rays white to pink; ligules 10–13 mm long. Disk corollas 8–10 mm long, shorter than the pappus. Achenes 3–5 mm long, pubescent with hairs branched at the tip (Lesica 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
