General Description
Glabrous and glaucous annual. Stems 30-90 cm. Leaf blades oblanceolate, 6-18 cm long, deeply pinnately lobed; lobes deltoid, shallowly lobed. Involucre 7-11 mm high; phyllaries reflexed in fruit. Rays 5, yellow; ligules ca. 7 mm long. Achenes ca. 3 mm long; the beak 0.5-1 mm long; pappus white (Lesica 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Lesica (2012) treats this species in the genus Lactuca.
