Diagnostic Characteristics

Subspecies glauca can be distinguished from others by the following combination of characters: phyllaries eglandular; leaves obovate, oblanceolate, or spatulate, 1.5–4 cm wide (Bogler, 2003, in Fl. North America).

Range Comments

AB east to MB, south to NV, AZ, NM, and TX but mostly absent from Great Plains (Kartesz 2009).

Habitat

Alkaline, wet or dry meadows; 1600–2300 m (Bogler 2003).
